Reverse flotation process. Hematite reverse flotation process is a method of using anionic or cationic collectors to float gangue minerals from raw ore. Anionic collector reverse flotation process is mostly used when the pH value is 8-9. It is used to treat quartz-containing gangue minerals.
10-01-2017 Single mineral flotation results demonstrated that monazite and hematite could be floated by the selected collectors; however, low or no quartz flotation was observed in some cases. Results from electrokinetic and contact angle measurements are consistent with that of the floatability of monazite, hematite, and quartz.
01-01-2021 The results of a number of comparative flotation characteristics of hematite flotation using the 18-carbon fatty acids are summarised in Table 2. The general trend was that the unsaturated fatty acids were stronger collectors for hematite compared with stearic acid, with an increased amount of double bonds/molecule often giving higher flotation recoveries.
The flotation results of hematite (refer Figure 3B) clearly indicate that with cationic C. 12 . amine collector, the flotation recovery increases with the increase of pH till around pH 9.5 and thereafter, the recovery decreases marginally. A maximum recovery, with C. 12 . amine, about 60% is attained at pH 9.5. The flotation recovery with
08-10-2020 Thus, the selective flotation of hematite from hematite/quartz mixture can be achieved using NaOl as the collector and CLS as the depressant. Lastly, based on the abovementioned findings and published literature [ [52] , [53] , [54] , [55] , [56] , [57] ], a possible interaction model for CLS on the hematite and the Fe 3+ -activated quartz surfaces in the presence of NaOl was proposed ( Fig. 13 ).
01-08-2019 The effect of magnetite as a magnetic seed on the flotation separation of fine hematite and quartz was studied by reverse micro-flotation and sedimentation. The results demonstrate that fine magnetite could selectively report to the pulp product with hematite particles, forming aggregates that avoided attachment to quartz particle surfaces.
The flotation separation on chlorite and hematite with the new modified fatty acid collector CY-23 was studied. The investigation included both flotation and reagent adsorption tests. And all the characteristics of chlorite surface before and after the adsorption of new collector CY-23 have been studied with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).
01-03-2019 Flotation collector α-Bromolauric acid (α-BLA) was used to separate fluorapatite (FAp) from hematite. Flotation performance was presented by pure mineral and mixed binary minerals flotation experiments. The adsorption mechanism of α-BLA on FAp surface was investigated by zeta-potential, FT-IR spectra, and XPS measurements.
Maximum hematite floatation recovery was observed at acidic pH with sulfate, neutral pH with oleate, and at basic pH about 9.5 with C 12 amine. Accelerated adsorption of cationic collector in the presence of anionic collector apart from its own co-adsorption was observed in flotation results with quartz and hematite.

Direct shipping of high grade iron ore, because of depletion or partial depletion of reserves, or high costs of operation has forced operators to use some means of beneficiation to produce an acceptable product with the lower grade iron ore reserves. Deposits of comparatively lower grade iron ore that remain relatively untouched or by-passed, are now most important because of increase in ...

A new surfactant butane-3-heptyloxy-1,2-diamine [CH3(CH2)6OCH(CH3)CH(NH2)CH2NH2; BHLD] was synthesized. It has been innovatively used as a collector in the flotation of quartz.

anionic flotation were described by Araújo et al. (2005). In China, anionic flotation is often employed according to iron ore characteristic and technological conditions (Chen and Zhang, 2013). For direct flotation, hematite can be floated with fatty acid as collector, while silicate minerals are depressed. For
