-The reduction in the sources of natural sand and the requirement for reduction in the cost of concrete production has resulted in the increased need to identify substitute material to sand as fine aggregates in the production of concretes especially in Concrete. Quarry dust, a by-product from the crushing process during quarrying activities is one of such materials.
Partial Replacement of Sand by Quarry Dust in Concrete (PDF) Partial Replacement of Sand by Quarry Dust in Concrete IJSRP Journal The paper describe the role of quarry dust In the construction of buildings and other structures to eliminate the demand of natural sand by using quarry waste to replace the use of natural sand.
replacement of 50% of sand by quarry dust had better performance than those with complete replacement of sand. Arunachalam et al. In such a situation the Quarry rock dust can be an economic alternative to the river sand. Quarry Rock Dust can be defined as residue, tailing or other non-voluble waste material after the ...
An Experimental Study on Replacement of Fine Aggregate with Quarry Dust The rapid growth in development of construction industry is leading to an increase in utilization of natural resources like river sand due to which there has been a much scarcity in availability for construction.
This experimental study presents the variation in the strength of concrete when replacing sand by quarry dust from 0% to 100% in steps of 10%. M20 and M25 grades of concrete were taken for study keeping a constant slump of 60mm. The compressive strength of concrete cubes at the age of 7 and 28 days were obtained at room temperature. Also the temperature effect on concrete cubes at 100 o C on ...

This work investigated the effect of partial replacement of sand with quarry dust on the compressive strength, flexural strength, split tensile strength and water absorption of sandcrete blocks. River sand was replaced with quarry dust at percentages ranging from 0 to 40 at cement/combined aggregate ratio of 1: 6. The blocks were moulded using a Rosa Commetta block laying machine and were ...

Since the mixes showed very dry nature at higher percentages of M Sand replacement, workability was kept in a constant range to find the optimum mix. M Sand was replaced with quarry dust powder in the test specimens at varying percentages of 0, 15, 30, 45 and 60 and tests were conducted to study these properties after finalizing the optimum mix.
